Fear of getting out of control

Before you discover what Binaural Beats are and how they can help you significantly decrease your anxiety level, it’s important that you understand what anxiety is. So without going into complicated psychological explanations, let’s try to understand the source of anxiety in a few sentences that you can relate to.

Anxiety is actually a fear of “what will happen.” The anxiety of what will happen can wear many different outfits, such as a fear of the future, a fear of failing, and a fear that the things you have will all be gone – fear of losing: losing people in your life, losing the familiar by making changes, losing the validation of others if you allow yourself to be seen.

This dread of what will happen stems from the fact that you don’t understand that you are the only one who is responsible for what will happen. And what will happen depends on what is happening now. Your life is super dynamic and the future is not fixed. It changes based on the vibration that you are radiating at this moment.

Sure, you can’t control everything, and unexpected events will occur, but this is ok. It’s inevitable. So in fact, you’re anxious to lose control. But enabling the anxiety to take over – this is actually losing control – you lose control of your emotions. And your emotions determine your vibration – which creates your reality.

Anxiety and overthinking of possible negative scripts in your head are just one way to build your future. There is another way to write your life’s scenario. This can be achieved by simply letting go.

Surrendering and letting go provides you the relief you need to be aware of your feelings while constantly questioning them and replacing them with healthier alternatives.

My anxiety prior to Binaural Beats

As one who struggled with anxiety, I can share with you the fact that it accompanied me almost every day! It is exhausting! It felt like there was a force that came from within and that worked against me until it defeated me. It took a long time to even acknowledge that I was an anxious person.

But when I figured out that I had a problem that needed to be addressed, and that I had the ability and the responsibility to take care of it, I looked for solutions.

I had exposed myself to Binaural Beats after many years of soul searching and resolution seeking.

In addition to listening to Binaural Beats at night before and while you sleep, you should strive to make a conscious effort to manage your anxiety. And there is only one way to do it effectively.

I will tell you about this way through a personal story. This revelation might sound simple, but it created for me an easy path toward almost completely eliminating anxiety from my life.

Why almost? Personally, I don’t believe that you can eliminate anxiety completely, not even by using Binaural Beats.

It would be against our survival instinct to not worry. However, you can definitely reduce it to minimal levels so that it stops running your life.

The veggie burgers are going bad

I remember that on the 4th of July a few years ago, I had been invited to a friend’s party to celebrate Independence Day. I left the house and on the way, stopped at Starbucks to buy an iced coffee to go. There was no drive-through, so I parked the car and walked into the local branch.

That day, the place had a really long line of people. Probably because everyone had a long day in front of them and wanted to purchase the most popular an energy-inducing drug.

After I waited for a few minutes, I suddenly realized that the veggie burgers I planned to bring to the party might have been melting inside the car!

Now, remember, this was the middle of summer and the temperature outside was about 90 degrees. The line barely moved and I calculated that it would take about 10 to 15 minutes before I get my coffee. The burgers could have really gone bad by that time!

I freaked out. I chewed my fingernails and got into the stressed mood I knew so well.

The minutes passed by and constant thoughts of fear ran through in my head: What if the burgers go bad? Could I put them in the freezer when I arrived at the party? What if it was too late? What will my friends think if I come empty-handed?

And suddenly it hit me … I had wasted 10 minutes on pointless anxiety about stupid burgers instead of just be in the moment, and enjoy myself. Instead of relaxing, observing people, making the most of that beautiful day and the fact that it was all one big celebration, I found myself relentlessly obsessing over nothing important.

Recognize when anxiety is activated

Up to that moment of enlightenment, I never paid attention to my feelings! Not just in the coffee shop, but in general. I was not mindful of the negative waves of emotions that prevailed within me for so long. I said to myself, “Edith, just relax. Take a deep breath. Everything is fine. The burgers will be okay and all is well. and if they go bad – that’s fine too.”

“Your iced caramel macchiato is ready,” the barista shouted.

Even this allegedly insignificant event ignited so many negative vibrations. The problem with anxiety is that you are not always aware of it. You do not pay attention to the negative feelings it sparks, like shame, fear, guilt, hate, anger and more.

Prior to using Binaural Beats, it’s important to remember one simple rule when it comes to your willingness to reduce anxiety. It’s also important that you apply it on a constant basis: just be aware. Observe your feelings.

It is very difficult to do so since our systems operate on an automatic mechanism, but it is possible with a daily practice. Just be mindful of the negative vibes that emerge once the anxiety switch is turned on.

Here is another thing I realized along my journey: Anxiety is nothing more than an illusion of control. What does this mean – an illusion? It means that when you are anxious about something, it gives you a false sense of control.

Our brains see it like “I am worried and scared enough, I am in control of the situation”. Of course, this is not true. I was worried about this burger nonsense, and it provided me with a feeling that I controlled the situation. “If I’ll be stressed, the heat will not melt them down.”

You are frightened that if you let go, you will not control on what’s going on. So let me tell you a secret – when you are experiencing anxiety, you are not controlling anything, especially not yourself.

But this limiting belief you subconsciously hang on to hinders you from letting go, and hence, you’re locked behind the anxiety bars.

So, what can you control? Your awareness of the anxieties that spread throughout your mind and body. You can also master your emotional state and, consequently, your behavior, the choices you make.
