Feeling Trapped In Life? Here Is How To Free Yourself

Trapped in life

What is stopping you from living your best life? What is holding you back so that instead of flying high and living your dreams, you are now feeling trapped in life?

It’s fear, isn’t it?

Sure, you don’t call it that, you use different words, but it is the same:

  • Oh, I don’t really want that promotion anyway.
  • Oh, I’m fine with my job—we all don’t need to enjoy our work.
  • I can’t expect too much, life usually brings me down
  • I can’t leave this relationship, he/she needs me.
  • Be realistic.

Sure, let’s be realistic:

You are feeling trapped at a crossroads and you are terrified. You are faced with an existential choice and it has you so scared that you don’t know how to proceed and it is keeping you up at night.

Presented with the alternative of taking a chance at living your dreams or feeling trapped with the reality you hate, you choose option three: do nothing. That’s why you feel helpless.

The Shackles Holding You Back Lie Within

Feeling trapped in life is usually a call for you to retreat within yourself to step into your power. It’s an opportunity to rediscover the factors that make you tick.

It is a call to rediscover the mechanisms that dictate your life, motivations, and values so that you can do away with those that are not helping.

In this case, you want to eliminate anything that leaves you feeling trapped, disempowered, lost, and empty, and here is why:

Like everything else in this life, you are meant to thrive. You are meant to grow; you are meant to expand and live at your best. That is your true nature. That’s how God wired you.

Your feeling of being weighed down by life is a sure sign that your inner wiring is out of whack.

It’s a sign that you are not functioning as you should, and that you are going against your divine nature.

But why do you feel trapped and locked into your circumstances? Why do you find yourself unable to do what you need to do in order to achieve your life goals?

Where do these constraints and chains come from?

It’s Not Your Fault that You Are Feeling Trapped In Life

You need to understand that whatever powerlessness you feel is not your fault. You are not delaying your dream life on purpose. It feels like it, but it’s not.

That fear you feel which shunts you into ‘fight or flight’ mode is beyond your conscious control. It is there to keep you safe.

This dread is conjured up like a dark shadow rising up from the darkest recesses of your mind. It presents itself every time you are faced with a situation that threatens you emotionally or physically.

During these threatening times, a part of your brain, the amygdala, will scream “Be Careful” and the ‘fight or flight’ response will be activated for your own security.

Your problem lies with the fact that you have been programmed to see change as a threat. You have been conditioned to perceive any place outside your comfort zone as dangerous or a no-go zone.

So while the people you admire are busy taking chances and manifesting their desires, you are petrified and rooted in the ‘feeling trapped’ spot.

Instead of grabbing with both hands the opportunities that come your way, you give excuses, you cower away in fear.

You are locked in between the life you want and the life you don’t want. This leaves you feeling trapped in anxiety and powerlessness.

And to tackle this problem, that is holding you back, you have to go to the root of your ineffective pattern and shift it. You have to remove the hidden paradigms that power this belief system that sees change as a threat.

Which brings us to the all-important question: What causes you to freeze up or stick your head in the sand when an opportunity shows up?

Emotional Trauma and Cellular Memory Trapped In Your Body

You may or may not know this, but your body’s cells remember everything. Yes, they do, and not only that, this cellular memory is the reason for your feeling stuck in life.

Everything you have ever gone through, heard, or seen, has been recorded in your cells, just as effectively as it has been registered in your brain.

This is the reason why there are many cases of people having thoughts, feelings, dreams, personality changes, and even food cravings after receiving organs from a donor.

Cellular memory makes it possible for your body to experience the same painful experiences from the past over and over again. It serves as the main switch for your ‘fight or flight’ mode.

Feeling trapped in lifeThe sensations you had when undergoing trauma early in life did not just go away after these events stopped. They were stored and trapped within your cells.

And even in your adulthood, you can still get triggered if you find yourself in situations that somehow resemble a similar pattern from your past.

Your System Is Designed To Protect You

Once your body recognizes a potentially threatening situation by way of cellular memory, your limbic brain – the part that has all to do with feelings – kicks in to prevent you from going through that excruciating pain all over again.

The painful past experiences go beyond physical and sexual abuse to include all the times when you felt cut off from the love and acceptance you needed as a child.

It includes when you felt rejection from caregivers, got punished, yelled at, and was trapped in situations you were feeling vulnerable and so on.

For example, let’s say that you grew up with perfectionist parents who brought the house down, scolded, or rejected you whenever you failed to “meet expectations”.

You may grow into an adult who feels trapped in life as years go by… An adult that is terrified of taking risks, or stepping out of their familiar box, because even the slightest chance of failure is interpreted as a life and death situation.

Many of us grow up in these circumstances.

You turned into an adult whose every cell is shell-shocked and primed to freeze up when novel opportunities present themselves.

You can’t afford to handle unfamiliar challenges. The fear of failure creeps in because that used to mean being cut off from love and affection – two crucial issues for survival.

So what happens when you face the daunting and risky decision of leaving the life you hate and charting your own course?

Your limbic system kicks in and you feel trapped and suffocated. Your brain makes up ‘credible’ reasons to escape.

How To Stop Feeling Like You’re Trapped Inside Your Own Life?

As a matter of fact, you can live the life you want. Or better yet, you deserve it.

You don’t have to:

  • Stay in that toxic relationship.
  • Continue at that dead-end job when you have a more promising offer on the table.
  • Play it safe with a 9 to 5, when what you really want is to start your own business.

You can live the life that you want, so long as you overcome the safeguards that are presently keeping you trapped and holding you back.

See, it is up to you to take down these inner barriers that instill stress into you and keep you stuck. And one of the fastest ways to do it is through mind training.

While you cannot wipe off the memories etched into your cells, you can make their impact less felt.

I created a specific program that can help you get out of that trapped state by detaching the meaning of these memories – the suffering that is attached to them.

They will become like any other old story in your life with absolutely no effect on you whatsoever.

You will be able to look at situations and opportunities with excitement. Rather than looking at them through a lens of fear.

In a relatively short time, you might find yourself thinking more positively about trying new things.

trapped by lifeYou will believe in your heart of hearts that you deserve better than you had settled for. And you will have the courage to make the necessary transformation despite what anyone thinks.

Now, you can try to consciously force your brain to stop sabotaging you from getting your dream life.

But that is only going to last for so long, and soon enough your internal mechanism will do what it does best – protect you from getting hurt again. Or in other words – hinder you from moving forward.

I know what it’s like to remain stuck in feeling trapped in life. It’s painful… it’s frustrating. But it can be changed. There’s no need to continue feeling like that.

It takes a bit of practice, but you can help yourself wash away your anxieties. When this finally happens, you’ll allow things to flow effortlessly from that state.
