Where Focus Goes Energy Flows: Redirect Your Attention

Where Focus Goes Energy Flows: Redirect Your Attention

where focus goes energy flows

Here’s a concrete example that can help you understand the concept of ‘where focus goes energy flows’. When I was a kid, I remember that a school teacher gave us a mission to light up a paper with a magnifying glass. When I focused on the sunlight long enough, the paper started to burn.

Back then I couldn’t believe that this is even possible. But today I realize that everything is possible if our attention goes to a focused goal for a sustained amount of time.

Do you want to be successful? Do you want to reach your ultimate goals? Then make sure your attention goes to the desired outcomes. Start focusing your energy on the things that need to be done. I didn’t invent the phrase where focus goes energy flows, but I sure do follow it with everything I do.

Behind every thought you have or action you take, there is a propelling force. It’s called momentum.

As the momentum builds up, it can cause huge changes in your life because it gets too strong and forceful, that the reality must line up with it.

But it can also work against you if you let it happen.

You can build a positive momentum or a negative one, and you do it by using the art of focus and attention.

Energy flows where focus goes. If your attention goes to what you want, the energy intensifies and your life starts to shift.

The Power of Focus: Energy Flows Where Attention Goes

Let’s understand the ‘where focus goes energy flows’ mindset. If you intend to attract abundance, career, relationships, or any desire you can put your mind to, you simply need to focus on it. In a good way. That means – stop messing up your own desires by offering other energies that are not in sync with your goals.

For example – if you want to manifest the love of your life, stop interrupting the signals you’re emitting with fear and doubt. These are two low vibrations that are not congruent with growth and wealth.

Instead, enhance your vibrational frequency and use creative visualization. Use your energy to focus on how you’d feel when you finally find the person that is right for you.

When you practice it, also pay attention to your bodily senses – do you feel expansion? Flow? Relief? That exercise will help you connect with your physical senses and the way your emotions express themselves in your body.

In addition, if you work on developing your sense of self and self-worth, that will help you focus your energy better. When you lack confidence it causes you to have stress and fear. When you feel complete, it will be easier for you to find the love you want and reach for your dreams.

If you’re like most people, your attention goes to worrying about what can go wrong. You may focus your energy on listing “rational” reasons as to why things won’t work out for you the way you want.

Anticipating the worse is a common mistake people do. They falsely believe that preparing for the worst-case scenario, gives them control over the situation.

But that’s not the case at all. The more your focus goes to your fears, you’re taking away the energy that is necessary to build momentum around your desired goals.

Instead of focusing on what you want in order to create a massive flow of energy, you’re sending mixed messages.  Your incoherent attention sabotaging your chances to achieve your wishes. So don’t stand in your own way.

I’m not saying you should ignore the possible complications. But there’s a big difference between focusing on problems and focusing the energy on solutions.

See, high-achievers keep their attention directed to their goals. And if problems occur, they ask the right questions. Instead of asking: why it won’t work, they ask “how can I make it work? What steps do I need need to take to make things happen”?

Focus Your Energy On Getting The Right Skills

Another common mistake is the belief that you need to know everything about everything.

If you think like that, you’re convinced that if you know everything, you won’t be helpless and insecure.

The truth is, you only need to focus on learning the most accurate skills that are required for your specific desires.

As you learn a bit about everything, the energy flow is pretty scattered, rather than sharp and focused.

Moreover, it’s not really your job to know exactly how things will fall into place. It’s your job to ensure your attention goes to the things you want, which will increase the energy flow there. The rest – is the Universe’s job.

If you don’t know a certain skill, don’t worry. You will meet the right person you need that will do it for you, as long as you keep directing your attention toward your target.

How things are going to happen? It’s none of your business. The universe will take care of that. I explain more about that here.

Notice Where Your Attention Goes

Energy is flowing to wherever you tell it to.

If you’re tense, preoccupied, and nervous – that tells the energy flow to stop immediately. Instead, the energy will flow in the opposite direction. You will then start attracting what you don’t want – more reasons that will take away your peace.

It’s easier said than done, but it’s imperative that you develop awareness every time you send mixed vibrations to the universe.

Practical Steps Of Letting Go

If you’re afraid, it’s almost impossible to talk your way out of it, here’s why: If your limbic system is activated, the blood is flowing away from your cortex (the rational part of the brain) to your amygdala (the fight, flight or freeze mode).

But what you can do is to observe what’s going on inside you. Give your attention to your body and see where you feel it. Does this sensation have a shape? A color? Is it moving? Do you feel constricted? Tense?

Then, you can give yourself permission for feeling like this by offering yourself self-empathy: “it’s ok that I’m scared.”

The next step would be to divert your attention from your fear and aim it towards feeling good. Since in many cases you can’t offer reasonable arguments when you’re triggered, there are other ways to focus on grounding yourself again.

These tricks can tell your brain that you are safe and it’s not necessary to activate the sympathetic nervous system anymore:

  • Laugh (watch some laughter yoga videos on YouTube)
  • Take some deep breaths
  • Surrender: I personally talk to God and tell him that it’s in his control now and I’m taking a step back – that gives me an instant relief
  • Walk barefoot in nature
  • Use essential oils for relaxation – clary sage, lavender, frankincense, and more.
  • Move your body: go out for a run or jump up and down where you live
  • Listen to mind-training tracks. This is super helpful! I share more about that here.

Be Intentional To Get That Energy Flowing

In order to focus on your visions and amplify the flow of energy towards that direction, you need to be intentional.

Don’t let your negative emotions control you and your choices, you need to intentionally NOT giving your attention to low-energy places.

To do that, build your internal resources of self-soothing techniques (I mentioned them above) when you feel overwhelmed by life.

The goal is to become a master at grounding yourself when you’re feeling off-balance, so you can easily focus your mind on the things you truly want.

As you embrace intentional living, you’ll see that you can be so good at focusing your energy on the places that can bring you the abundance you want and deserve.
